Setapp and Mac App Store

Setapp

• PDF Pals is included with your Setapp membership (Settings ▸ Setapp).
• Setapp AI is built in and uses your Setapp AI credits, with no API key. To index with it too (also uses credits), choose Setapp AI as the Embedding model in Settings ▸ Models.
• Local models use no credits. You can also add your own API key.

If Setapp AI says The provider rate limit was reached. Please try again later., wait or switch models. See Setapp's Limitations in Setapp apps.

Mac App Store

• v2 includes 50 free questions, answered by the built-in PDF Pals AI. Settings ▸ Subscription shows how many are left.
• Subscribe… to PDF Pals Pro to keep asking and to use local models and your own providers (marked Pro in the model picker until then).
• Reinstalled or on another Mac? Click Restore Purchases.
• To change or cancel, click Manage Subscription… or use the App Store.

Apple bills App Store purchases and handles their refunds. See refunds.
