Setapp Rate Limits
Most AI apps depend on OpenAI, meaning each user must have their own OpenAI keys. This implies that you must visit the OpenAI website, register, get the key, and know where to use it. The procedure is not obvious and not easy so Setapp simplified this for you.
Below is the rate limits when using PDF Pals on Setapp.
- Indexing: 5000 req/day/user
- AI Chat: 100 req/hour/user, 200 req/day/user
- GPT-4: not available when using Setapp's API servers (read more below)

Does GPT-4 provider better answers?
Most of the time, no. I've been testing with more than 100 documents ranging from contract agreements to technical ebooks, using GPT-3.5 and GPT-3.5 16K is more than sufficient for the task.
There are some rare cases where the document is highly technical and requires more reasoning capability then GPT-4 might be useful.
Can I use GPT-4 using Setapp's API server?
Unfortunately, due to the high cost of the GPT-4 model, Setapp does not support GPT-4 usage in PDF Pals.
